Cozzi, but not cosy enough.

The first rule of the thumb before managing a hotel, is to have your staff being trained to be friendly to the guests. Many hotel managers do not listen to this advice, but in the end they will somehow have problem with their business. It is a lucrative business, yet risky. And as a hotel guest, do make your own homework before booking any hotels.

I booked one of the cheap hotels around Port Dickson online, with hope that I would have a comfortable stay for one night and get into a swimming pool. Lucky for me, through a last minute booking I managed to get Cozzi Hotel, which was just a few minutes drive from Teluk Kemang exit. But one thing I forgot to check was the hotel reviews from various online sites. From what I read, it had a favourable review.

It had

very big slides and considerably big swimming pool. However, it was not open all the time. It only opened at 9.30 am. The funny thing was the opening hour notice was only typed on a piece of A4 paper and pasted on the sliding door. When the sliding door was opened, nobody could see the notice.

We didn't see the notice at all. Since we only stayed for one night, we decided to go for a swim early in the morning. So we went into the pool around 8. We were the only people in there. Suddenly, we were scolded by the staff. We were told about the time, but we did not see any sign. The staff said she wanted to 'investigate' regarding this matter.

When we went back to the hotel room, we could see a lot of families splashing water in the pool. It was not even 9 yet. Some even wearing t-shirts So my father went down a talked to the staff about this. The staff gave a different excuse and did not do anything to chase away the people in the pool.

When we wanted to check out, we had to wait for a long time as the staff wanted to 'investigate' our room to see if we were already out. However, when a young couple next to us went to the counter, they had their rooms checked out in a flash.

Talk about being double standard here.

When I logged into my brother's Fourspace, an IPhone app for travellers, I realised that there were so many bad reviews targeting the staff and service in the hotel.

All in all the room is relatively okay, the slides are okay, near the beach, but the staff... please nevermind the staff. If you don't mind having a bad service, it is a very good place to stay. 2 out of 5?

I hope this review helps to the families who are planning to stay in Teluk Kemang.
